Honoring Our Korean War Veterans

As you know, I am heavily involved in making sure our Veterans are recognized for their service and sacrifices for our nation. As such, I am heading up the Memorial Day weekend event at the Veterans Plaza in Fort Collins.

The Veterans Plaza of Northern Colorado will be honoring our Korean War Veterans during its annual Memorial Day Weekend celebration in 2016. The Veterans Plaza’s mission is to honor our military members for their service and sacrifices, and to educate the public of such. Annually the Plaza hosts a celebration of our men and women in uniform during the Memorial Day Weekend. This year will be no different as we pay tribute to those who served in the Korean War, 1950 – 1953.

The Korean War has often been referred to as “The Forgotten War.” Lasting three years and following close on the heels of World War Two, the war claimed the lives of 36,516 and wounding of 92,134 American service members. It is our mission this year to make sure all are remembered.

There are several events over a three day period that comprise our Salute to Our Korean War Veterans. They begin on Saturday the 28th of May and run through Memorial Day, May 30th.

The events are listed here: www.veteransplazanoco.org/events/
